June Gallery Show Photos

Yes, it has been a month since I posted to this blog; and what a month. Below are some photos of the gallery show that recently ended. (If you are on my blog, you may click on each photo for a larger view) It was a very exciting opening night, and I ended up selling two paintings. One small one, and thankfully, one large painting.

I am now showing the remaining paintings at the Stumptown/ Belmont Location in Portland. If you missed the show, and still want to see the work in person, it will be up through the end of July. Enjoy the photos, and feedback is always appreciated! I will also be posting photos of each painting as soon as I photograph them properly.

These two paintings sold, and are living happily with new owners.

Summer Show Updates.

The show of landscapes and still life paintings at Nancy's Kitchen had its final day yesterday. Amazingly, while I was taking the works off the wall, a very nice couple decided to buy one of my landscapes. Moments later, after talking with them about the work, they decided they wanted 3 of my landscapes! Needless to say, I was willing to accept their offer, and they soon drove away, the happy owners of three very nice, and very affordable paintings.

Overall, the show was a success, with almost half of the work sold. I am very happy that my paintings are finally finding new homes.

In other news, the work for the June show is finished, and the gallery will open its doors this coming Thursday at 6pm. I hope to see you Portland folks there, and following the opening night, I will post pictures of the show for those of you who could not be there in person. Wish me luck!

June Show Revealed!

Hello everyone! I am almost done with the paintings for my gallery show in June. This is the official flyer for the show and offers a sneak peak at a few of the new paintings. The show opens in Portland on June 5th, and will be up for the entire month. So if you are in the area, come to the First Thursday opening, or call the gallery to schedule a viewing on the weekend. Hope to see some of you there! I will post pictures of the show for those of you who can't make it.

So, as you might have noticed, you haven't been receiving any new paintings in your mailbox recently.  Why is this you ask?  Because I have been painting like mad for my gallery show that opens in June this summer.  Also, my first show of the summer is up now at Nancy's Kitchen in NW Portland!  Included in the show are 8 landscape paintings and 6 still lifes from this very blog!  So if you live in Portland, stop by, and get yourself something tasty to eat as well.

This Portrait was commissioned by Brandy Kayzakian-Rowe in honor of her mother's birthday. Brandy is the owner of Wandering Gypsy Soul Gallery in Portland, Oregon. She is a wonderful painter, and has been so kind as to give me my first solo show in a gallery, which will open in June.
If you find yourself interested in commissioning a portrait for yourself or for a loved one, please send an email to davemail3@gmail.com, or just reply if this post has been sent as an email.    Also, check out my website davidkilpatrick.net , to see a few more portraits.

Tangerine with Foliage 5x7.....$75

I believe this painting is my favorite still life that I have done so far. In person the tangerine appears quite luminous, and the cup is very glossy. I am happy with this picture, and I hope you enjoy it too, so please respond and let me know your thoughts. Also, don't forget to help me spread the word by telling friends and family about this site, or you can sign them up on my blog by typing in their email address. Just make sure to let them know that you have signed them up for the newsletter. Enjoy!

This painting is for my wonderful mother. She has a fondness for chestnuts. I also think this is a great painting for spring, when new life is all around us. I am now going to be posting detail images of each painting, so that you can get a closer view of some of my favorite areas in the painting. Enjoy.
